We hosted our fourth annual Spelling Bee at Hedenkamp on Saturday.  Congratulations to the top spellers from each class that participated! We are proud of all of  you! Please check out twitter for pictures of all the spellers that participated!  Special thanks to Dr. Woodford, Ms. Martucci, Mrs. Abraham, Ms. Monis, Mrs. Josa, Ms. E. Crowley, and Mrs. King for helping ensure the event was a success!  We also would like to thank all the families and our PTA that donated funds to purchase trophies and prizes for the Spelling Bee.spellingbee

Kindergarten – Nicholas, Chloe, Hiwot, 1st grade – Sophie, Raphael, Kailyn,  2nd grade – Jayden, Renzo, Coty, 3rd grade – Serena, Julius, Cole, 4th grade – Jorell, Leo, Andrei, 5th grade – Rianajun, Rishab, Brice, and 6th grade – Haaris, Ryan, Mathea

The top two spellers from each grade level will go on to represent our school at the District Spelling Bee on February 2nd at Eastlake Elementary! We wish them the best of luck!

ELPAC Test Informational MeetinG

Is your child an English Language Learner?  Did you know that all our English Language Learners will be participating in the ELPAC assessment the week of February 4th ?   Please come to an important meeting to learn  more about the English Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC) , join us
on Thursday, January 31 at 8:15 a.m.   Our monthly ELAC meeting will focus on this important assessment.  We hope to see you all there!

Kids HEART Challenge

It takes heart to be a hero! Our students will be Heart Heroes as they participate in the Kids Heart Challenge on February 1 at 10:00 am on the blacktop.  Our students will jump rope to raise funds for the American Heart Association.  If you would like to donate to this great organization please visit Hedenkamp’s Kids Heart Challenge Site. Everyone is encouraged to wear red on February 1st  to encourage healthy lifestyles for a healthy heart!  Please wear red and join us for the Kids Heart Challenge on February 1st.


It is already time to begin planning for registration for the 2019-2020 school year! Please let your friends and neighbors know that TK and Kindergarten registration packets will be kinder.jpg
available on Wednesday, February 6th.   Registration packets will be accepted on Wednesday, February 20th.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding registration for the 2019 -2020 school year.


If your children are at Hedenkamp on a Zone Transfer, please be sure to renew your transfer for the 2019-2020 school year.  Please stop by the office to submit your Zone Transfer as soon as possible.
