PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Spring Student-Led Conferences (K-8)

Spring Conferences

Our Spring Parent Teacher Conferences begin Thursday, March 14 and end Thursday, March 22.  Please make every effort to attend the scheduled conference to discuss your child’s progress.  Our teachers and students will share very important information and you will have an  opportunity to ask questions about your child’s progress this school year.

Please remember that all 1st-6th grade students are dismissed at 1:55 p.m. throughout the conference schedule.  Kindergarten students will all attend from 8:45 am to 1:25 p.m each day from March 14 through March 22. Also, Ensemble will rehearse from 2 – 4 on the 14th and 21st.  Please make appropriate transportation arrangements during our modified schedule.

PARKING AND TRAFFIC REMINDERS

We want to remind everyone of the importance of safety during pick up and drop off at Hedenkamp.  Please continue to drive slowly and be mindful in the school zone and our parking lot.  Please arrive early if you would like to park in the lot.  Because parking is limited, we recommend that you take advantage of our drop off and pick up zones.  ThereTraffic Signs are  currently two main areas.  They are: main parking lot and Tabor Court. If you arrive between 8:25 and 8:35 and use one of the drop off areas, drop off is quick and easy. Please encourage your students to wait in one of the two areas after school to be picked up as well.  The line moves quickly and most, if not all students are safely picked up by 3:40 p.m.  Both Mr. DeVore and Mrs. Mazeau will continue to  monitor the drop off and pick up areas.

To help facilitate the process, we ask all vehicles to continue to move forward in the drop off and pick up areas.  This allows more vehicles into the area, expediting the drop off and pick up.  Cars should never park in any of the drop off pick up zones or in the red areas. Our wonderful safety patrol will share reminders with all of you, please be respectful and follow their instructions.  We thank everyone in advance for your patience and cooperation.

PTA Meeting

There will be a PTA meeting on Wednesday, March 6th at 5:30 PM in the Hedenkamp Library. We will be voting on the PTA board as well as discuss upcoming events. We look forward to seeing you there.

BOGO Book Fair

One of our favorite events of the year, the “Buy One Get One” Free Annual Book Fair is upon us from March 11th to the 15th in the Hedenkamp MPR. There are many ways for your student to get involved including a coloring contest and donating to All For Books. We want to keep kids interested, engaged, and READING!

This year, teacher’s will have an opportunity to create classroom wish lists which is a great way to support your child’s classroom. Our school gets back 55% of each purchase, and we use the proceeds to help provide supplies for the kids.

As you know, we cannot do these events without the help and support of parents and grandparents like you! Please take a moment to review our volunteer sign up. We make it as fun, and painless as possible! There are also opportunities for high school students to earn community service hours.

We are excited to announce this new way to pay for your child’s favorite books this year! E-wallet is a digital way to pay that eliminates the need for cash. Set a monetary limit for your child hooked up to your debit\credit card (extended family can send money too!) And when the fair ends, any remaining money will be released back to you! Take advantage of this cool new tool by visiting the book fair home pageSee attached.
